Top Swimwear Tips from Heidi Gosman co-founder of Luxury Brand Heidi Klein

With Bath in Fashion less than a week away, and summer hopefully just around the corner, we thought it was the perfect time for TGtB to get some insider knowledge on summer beachwear.

Swimwear guru Heidi Gosman, co-founder of luxury swimwear brand Heidi Klein, shares her top tips on what and how we should be wearing our swimwear for summer 2014.

TGtB love your gorgeous brand, we’d love to know what inspired you to start the line?   

Penny Klein and I were out shopping for swimwear in winter, when we realized that most department stores don’t stock much swimwear out of season. We came up with the idea for a one-stop beachwear shop then, and launched our first shop in 2001.

What are the top colour and style trends for Summer 2014? 

A top trend for swimwear every year is the nautical look, and this year we’ve added some rope and gold eyelets with Abaco to give it a little twist.  Animal print is also still a trending colour.  For style, the bandeau top is always popular, and the once-piece is making a great come back with slimming styles and shapes.

What is the best style of bikini or swimsuit to go for if you have a larger bust?  

For larger bust sizes, we have bikini tops in a D-G halter style with adjustable ties for a perfect fit, moulded cups for shape and support. Or, select a D-G one-piece with moulded cups, side boning for support and shape which offers a flattering silhouette.

What is the best style of bikini bottoms or swimsuit for a larger bottom? 

We have a Fold Over bottom that fits snugly to the shape and gives a more classic fit.

If you are concerned about slimming swimwear, what would you recommend? 

Look for structure in your swimwear if you want a slimming effect.  Go for a one-piece that suits your body shape, and make sure you get a fitting with a sales assistant who will help you find the right fit for your shape. We love all of your summer collection, but what is your favourite piece? 

I love the Pin Tuck white shirt cover up and any nautical styles, such as Sete.
