WebsiteTartan was everywhere on the Catwalks for Autumn/Winter 2013, the love affair with the punk edge has come back, and it hits hard. I adore this Miss Selfridge dress, as it’s keeping up with the ever popular body con style, but adds a huge up to date fashion twist to it. It shows you know what you’re talking about, without being too obvious.
Coats and outwear is something I am particularly looking forward to this coming season. You’ll see a lot of big and roomy coats, with broad but dropped shoulders. Very masculine, but very cosy. Looking fabulous, and feeling comfortable, surely the best fashion trend?
We don’t all like to make a huge statement, and that’s something that velvet can very much do. Instead of going overboard, try this cute but perfectly on tend clutch bag. The dark velvet ties with the other trends seen on the catwalk, as well as being the go to fabric for this season.
It’s all about being a bit dark and moody for A/W, and the dark tones and textures will be out in force. Lace skirts, velvet boots, and gothic dresses all come together. Maybe a little scary when you first think about styling this trend, but pair this dress with some velvet ankle boots and it will scream perfection.
Plaid is so very similar to tartan, but it’s a little less traditional. You’ll find it in different colours and patterns, and I find a little easier to wear. This little dress is just lovely, easy to pair with tights when it gets colder, and there’s not much that will beat throwing on a smock...but you’ll still be looking amazing.
