Total Guide to Fashion: Winter Fashion 2013 for Women
Any good fashionista knows you need to be ahead of the game when it comes to sniffing out new trends, so with that in mind here's a little peek at the coolest and most coveted trends in Womenswear this Winter. Who needs Vogue when you've got TGtB?
Unfortunately Ladies, that time of year has come once again. We have to kiss goodbye to our favourite pair of Daisy Duke’s, store away our strappy sandals and make the transition from Summer time fab to Autumn drab! Ok, ok so we’re being a little bit dramatic here at TGtB office today, but what’s everyone wearing this season? Well, fear not, as we’re clued up on all of the hottest new trends for Winter. So c’mon Bath lets go shopping!
Sparkles
Sparkles are everywhere this season and can add a real touch of glamour to your everyday look. Formal or casual don’t be afraid to be a little bit daring. It’s great to remember though they don’t have to be excessive, understated embellishments are equally as enticing, especially if you’re worried about looking like a pearly queen! Topshop and H&M are a magpies dream at the moment; there really are some fantastic treasures to be found! Pearls, Studs, sequins, mirrors, spikes, beads and jewels our some of our fave embellishments on jeans, tops and shoes alike. Our must have piece has to be this £9.99 Sequin top from H&M Swindon.
Camouflage and Military
Thanks to the likes of Katy Perry’s “Part of me” video and British fashion maverick Rita Ora, camo is a hot trend to watch this Autumn and Winter. We love the boyish touch a camo jacket adds to a young ladies style. To complete the look; add shorts, tights and ankle boots. Or why not add some huge statement jewelry and a pair of strappy wedges for an uber cute night out in Baker Street? If you aren’t confident enough to work the army girl look in a bold pattern like camo, River Island has this super feminine alternative for you to try. Khaki PU Sleeve army jacket for £55.
Jeans
We love them! And It’s not just coloured jeans that we’ve seen a lot of on the high-street this season, jeans adorned with statement floral and geometric patterns are set to be a must have too. Choosing such a striking colour and be a little daunting though, so if you’re little unsure, we’d go for a wine, rust or simple burgundy colour to get you started. Plus to avoid some serious colour clashing make sure to where them with neutrals. We’d say go for a simple white tee, tan boots and a nude coloured jacket. Try them and just have a bit of fun! We’re sure all you fashionistas out there will adore these £9.99 trousers from H&M Swindon.
Faux Fur
Let’s face it girls, when did faux fur ever truly go out of style? We’re not just talking large gorgeous fur coats either, this Autumn and Winter it’s all about introducing fur into your wardrobes in a more subtle way yet equally stylish way. Think fur trims on jackets, a fur headband or even a cute fur waistcoat. Faux-fur pieces, vests in particular have never looked so cool or so pretty. We’ve already snapped up this £65 Faux Fur Mongolian Gilet from Swindon Topshop!
Chelsea Boots
If you’re after a pair of cool, casual laid back rock chick style shoes like Kate Moss and Daisy Lowe this fall, then look no further than a pair of low-heeled Chelsea boots. Our top tip is to buy heels that are low, slightly triangular and chunky in shape. They’ll look great with a pair of skinnies as well as a skirt or dress during that awkward Summer to Autumn transition period. But if this traditional British Summer weather keeps up, you may find yourself slipping into some new shoes before the end of the season. Check out these £30 Red Leopard Print Chelsea Boots from River Island for inspiration.
