Bath Rugby Clash With Sale Sharks To Be Rearranged
Premiership Rugby have today confirmed that - in co-operation with Bath Rugby and Sale Sharks – they will now begin the process to re-arrange the date of their Aviva Premiership Rugby Round 9 match previously scheduled for Friday 8 January 2016
This will allow the postponed European Rugby Champions Cup Round 1 match between Toulon and Bath Rugby to take place that weekend alongside all other delayed European fixtures.
“Following the tragic events in Paris on 13 November and the postponement of the European matches which were due to be played in France that weekend, we have been working closely with the clubs and EPCR on the re-scheduling options,” said Premiership Rugby CEO Mark McCafferty.
“It's been extremely challenging as the start of our season was delayed due to Rugby World Cup and there were simply no spare weekends. However, Bath Rugby has been continually supportive and very flexible in helping re-arrange the Toulon game for the same weekend as the other postponed European matches.
"Equally, I would like to record our thanks to Sale Sharks for their strong support in facilitating this outcome. It further underlines the co-operation and solidarity shown by all European clubs against the background of the tragic circumstances," he added.
Premiership Rugby plan to make a further announcement next month. Make sure to keep checking Total Sport for all Bath Rugby updates.
