The result meant that Bath won all three of their pre-season games, following previous victories over Yorkshire Carnegie and Scarlets respectively.
Bath raced into a 10-0 lead in Ireland. Dave Attwood scored the first try of the match after just four minutes, which was converted by Rhys Priestland, who had scored a penalty even earlier than the try.
Priestland then knocked over a second penalty to make it 13-0 to the visitors before Leinster came back with a try of their own through Adam Byrne, although Joey Carbery failed to convert it.
The hosts were soon right back in it with their second try of the contest, captain Ross Molony going over this time, and, on the second occasion, Carbery was succesful with the conversion.
It was Bath who finished the first-half in style however with Dan Bowden scoring the blue, black and white's second try of the day to put the away side 13-20 up at half-time.
Bath made a range of changes in the second period as new Director of Rugby Todd Blackadder continues to evaluate his side, and one of them, Rory Jennings, had a telling impact on try number three.
Jennings set Semesa Rokoduguni on his way and the England international made it 12-25, unfortunately George Ford hit the post with the follow-up kick.
Rokoduguni was later sin-binned for illegall handling and Leinster seized on the 14-men immediately with Barry Daly scoring a try, converted by Byrne, to bring the deficit down to six.
There was still time for one more Bath try though as Harry Davies latched onto his own long-distance kick to score and Ford converted to register a convincing Bath win.
