Bath Rugby's Henry Thomas signs three-year extension to contract at the club

Henry Thomas has committed his future to the Recreation Ground as he has signed a three-year extension to his contract at Bath Rugby.

Thomas will now remain at the club he signed for in 2014 until 2020.

Prior to joining Bath, Thomas was prop for Sale from between 2010 and 2014 and he scored 40 points in 82 caps for the Sharks during his four years at the Salford-based club.

Since 2013, Thomas has been capped by England seven times although on a club level this season he has had restricted game time due to a serious knee injury.

He has only managed to feature in six games but, despite that, he has made an impressive 44 tackles, 34 carries and gained 37 metres when on the pitch.

On Thomas' contract signing, Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder said: “Henry is a very talented player, so we’re all thrilled he’s re-signed with the Club. He has a tremendous skill set and work ethic, and we can’t wait to see him back out on the field doing what he does best when he’s ready.

“Retaining a large proportion of the squad is crucial to a cohesive team unit going forward, so that is a key focus for us. It will undoubtedly reap its rewards over what we believe will be a successful few years for the Club.”
