Gill brings up Bath City milestone with victory over Truro City

Bath City boss Jerry Gill expressed his delight, as he celebrated his 300th game in charge with a 2-1 victory over Truro City.

Former Truro star Cody Cooke put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot at Twerton Park before Tom Smith added another just past the hour mark.

Connor Riley-Lowe scored a consolation for the White Tigers late on but Bath went on to seal their fifth consecutive victory.

Speaking to Bath City’s official YouTube channel post-match, Gill said: “The boys have been terrific.

“They are out on their feet. The demand we are putting on them is huge and they’ll need to recover before Saturday.

“But it was a wonderful night, a wonderful win. My 300th game, I wanted to celebrate it with a win for personal reasons but with the fans over there as well.

“The connection still is wonderful with us all and all we can do is keep winning games.”

Victory put Bath fourth in the National South table, with 56 points accumulated from 32 games.

“To win five games on the bounce at any level is superb and we know how tough our league is,” added Gill.

“It’s three points and as I keep saying every week, all we can do is keep winning games.”
