Boost For Bath As Star Props Commit To The Club

Bath Rugby props Nick Auterac and Nathan Catt have renewed their current deals, the club has today confirmed.

Catt, 27, and Auterac, 23, are widely regarded as two of the most exciting looseheads in the English game, and their re-signing is a signal of intent from one of the strongest packs in the league.

“It’s fantastic for us to be retaining the services of Nathan and Nick, two outstanding young props,” said Head Coach Mike Ford.

“They both have their best years ahead of them too, and with someone of the calibre of Neal Hatley overseeing their development in the pack, they’ll keep going from strength to strength.

"We see them as the modern day props - not just excellent at the set piece, but mobile and skilful around the field," Ford added.

Auterac joined the Club from Saracens ahead of the 2014/15 season, having made his Aviva Premiership debut in 2012 against London Wasps.

The Westminster-born youngster made his national bow in the same year, featuring for the England under 20 team in the Six Nations championships.

Catt meanwhile rose through the ranks of the Bath Rugby Academy, making the step up to the first team squad in 2008.

Now with over 100 Bath Rugby appearances to his name, Catt made his first outing in the blue, black and white against rivals Leicester Tigers in the EDF energy cup.

Catt also has a host of national honours, having represented England at under 18, 19, 20 levels, and also England Saxons.
