Last Saturday saw 12 teams from nine Bath businesses push themselves to their physical limits in aid of the Bath Rugby Foundation.
Each team was tasked with tackling a series of endurance events including, a 1000m cycle, passing targets, tyre pull and a tug of war.
The teams were given a Bath sporting legend to bolster the ranks – from England Rugby players Andy Beattie, Phil deGlanville and Sarah Hunter to Olympic medal winners Heather Fell and Katy Burke.
The winning team were the ‘BMT Beasts’ who totted up an impressive 94 points, topping the table in the hand release press ups, the tyre pull and the passing target challenge. They were closely followed by Rygor, with 92 points and team ‘Dyson Pure Cool’ with 87.
Total Bath's very own Liz Ledger also took part in the event, joining team UTS Bath who finished joint fifth place.
The event has raised over £5,000 so far which the Foundation will use to fund its inclusive after school clubs programme – aimed at children with special educational needs.
The project uses rugby to develop fundamental movements such as agility, balance and co-ordination – but more importantly, helps build confidence, and develop social skills.
The Foundation would like to thank the teams from Thrings, Rygor, BMT, Dyson, Silcox Sons & Wicks, Novia, Urban Training Systems, and Prior Park College, the participating Superstars and supporters for lending their time and energy to the day.
