Burgess Rumoured to be Leaving Bath Rugby

With the spotlight on Bath Rugby's Sam Burgess, there's been much speculation over recent months that he's set to leave the club for a return to Rugby League.

It’s no secret that Sam Burgess has received some criticism over the past few months. Despite being welcomed into Rugby union with open arms, after having been selected for England’s world cup squad, the spotlight was set on the Bath Rugby player.

There has been much speculation recently over Burgess’ possible return to former club South Sydney, and today the guessing hit an all-time high with Burgess’ apparent immediate release from the club, despite only being a year into his three year contract. At this moment, nothing has been confirmed by either Bath Rugby officials, or Burgess himself.

With the rumour mill working extra time, it’s no surprise that his old side the Rabbitohs are rumoured to be interested while Leeds Rhinos have also said they would be keen on bringing Burgess back to league if the opportunity arises.

Time will tell for Burgess’ in the meantime Bath Rugby prepare to take on London Irish this weekend.
