Bath Rugby have today confirmed scrum half Jonathan Evans will leave the club and return to Wales next season.
The 23-year-old scrum-half, who has encountered stern competition for game time at the Rec, will join up with the West Wales region, the Scarlets.
“Despite not getting as much time on the pitch as I’d like, I do feel I’ve developed as a player since I joined Bath”, commented Evans.
“I’m looking forward to challenging for a starting spot at Scarlets next season, and it will be good to be back in Wales, but I’m just focusing on the rest of the season here at Bath and pushing to remain in the matchday squad.”
“Jonny’s been a good addition to our squad this season”, added Mike Ford, Bath Rugby Head Coach. “We’ve got some very talented scrum-halves in the squad, and we’re sorry to see him go, but I’m sure he’ll be a great success at Scarlets.”
Evans recorded his first scrum for Bath during February's clash against Worcester Warriors, getting himself on the score sheet just moments after coming onto the field.
