George Earle banned for eight weeks for incident against Bath Rugby
Cardiff Blues' George Earle has been slapped with an eight-week ban after his sending off against Bath in the European Challenge Cup.
Earle was caught making contact with flanker Tom Ellis in the 38-3 win for the Blue, Black and White at the Recreation Ground.
His coach, Danny Wilson, insists the contact was accidental but a disciplinary panel does not agree and have therefore banned the 29-year-old South African lock.
He pleaded not guilty but, despite losing his case, he may now appeal the decision.
The next match he will be available for is not until Monday, February 13.
Bath's trip to Wasps on Christmas Eve is their next game.
