Getting to know Bath Rugby's Tom Homer
Total Sport sat down with Bath Rugby's back three man Tom Homer, to learn a little bit more about the Salisbury born 25-year-old. From favourite food to biggest influence to a love of comic books, we made sure all bases were covered.
So tell us Tom, what would you say has been your best moment in rugby?
I guess my Premiership debut was pretty special, against Saracens,I didn't play too bad!
And who is the best player you have played with?
That's difficult, i've played with heaps of good players. Ones that stick out, to name a few, Mike Catt. The abundance of world class players here (at Bath) is pretty evident, so I couldn't really pick one.
Thinking of the Bath Rugby squad then, who is the sharpest dresser?
I'm going to go with Max Lahiff. He's just creatively confident .
Let's talk about you personally, what is your favourite food?
Probably banoffee pie.
And your hobby, outside of rugby?
I read, comics normally, or books - stuff like that. I kind of just take myself away from the real world for a bit. Superman or batman.
So, if you weren't playing rugby, what would you be doing?
Not a clue, to tell the truth. I'd be in the sporting world I think, but i'm not sure exactly.
Who is your room mate on away trips, and what are they like?
Max Lahiff, awesome room mate, nothing bad to say about him.
Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
There have been a lot of influences. I guess all the coaches i've had throughout my career have all had a massive influence on me, from lower age rugby 8 or 9, up to now.
Finally, the greatest ever rugby player - in your view?
I have to choose a back I guess. I'd probably have to say Dan Carter. Just what he has achieved and how he has gone about achieving it is probably why.
