MATCH REPORT: Bath Rugby 11-17 Exeter
A second-half collapse led to Bath losing at home to Exeter on New Years Eve.
Bath Rugby built up an 11-0 lead in the first 40 minutes but a superb fightback from the Chiefs denied Todd Blackadder's men a perfect end to 2016, which started badly but vastly improved under the stewardship of Blackadder.
George Ford opened the scoring with a 19th-minute penalty to put Bath 3-0 to the good and he had notched a second by the half-hour mark.
Ford kicked the second penalty through with 27 minutes played to double Bath's advantage to six.
Semesa Rokoduguni ran in a 31st-minute try that gave Bath what they must have thought to be an unassailable lead, even when Ford was unsuccesful with his conversion.
Exeter's turnaround did not start until the hour, with 20 minutes of the match remaining, but it was Gareth Steenson who got the point-scoring started for the visitors with a penalty in the 62nd minute.
Ten minutes later James Short scored Exeter's firsty try of the afternoon, which Steenson converted to make it 11-10.
Short scored his and Exeter's second try three minutes from time to put Exeter in front for the first time and Steenson was on target with the kick after which saw the game finish at 11-17.
