MATCH REPORT: Gosport Borough 1-0 Bath City

Bath City's three-match win streak came to an end on Tuesday night as they were beaten 1-0 by an impressive Gosport outfit.

The Romans went into the match a key man light as Reading loanee Axel Andresson is away on international duty with the Iceland under-21 squad.

It showed early on too as Gosport only took five minutes to get a goal, which would turn out to be the only one of the 90 minutes.

Sam Lanahan made it 1-0 with Gosport's first shot of the game to aid the Hampshire-based side in their fight against relegation from the Conference South.

Bath could have, and maybe should have, stolen a point from battling Borough with a penalty, but the spot-kick was missed.

In the 89th minute, Bath were awarded the chance to nick a point from 12 yards when Shawn McCoulsky was felled in the box by the Borough keeper.

With regular penalty taker Andresson not around, Bristol City loanee McCoulsky stepped up himself, but saw his strike easily saved.
