MATCH REPORT: Whitehawk 0-2 Bath City

Bath City got back to winning ways on Saturday with a much-needed 2-0 win over struggling Whitehawk.

An Andy Watkins brace meant Bath finished the weekend in 11th but Eastbourne Borough, two points behind, have a game in hand.

With all respect to Watkins, his goals were perhaps not the most interesting thing about the match.

The match was delayed for a prolonged period of time due to the refereee suffering from a calf injury and it became apparent he could no longer continue officiating for the afternoon.

In stepped a Whitehawk fan from the crowd who ran the line for the remainder of the match.

Thankfully there was no bias reffing from the not-very-neutral nature of the referee and Bath scored a goal in either half to get the win.

In fact, Whitehawk had a man, ex-Swindon Town loanee Ahmed Abdulla, sent off on the half-hour mark for two bookable offenses.

After 27 minutes, Watkins flicked on Chas Hemmings' cross to put Bath into the lead and with 18 minutes to go he doubled his and Bath's goal amount with a well-struck effort to secure the win.
