Robbie Fruean scores try for Bath United as he regains full fitness

Bath Rugby's Robbie Fruean enjoyed a try-scoring debut for reserve side Bath United as he looks to get match fit for the seniors.

Fruean's arrival at Bath excited many due to his high calibre however his spell at the Rec so far has been dogged by injury that has prevented him from making his debut for the club.

However, last night, in front of the watchful eye of director of rugby Todd Blackadder, Fruean scored a try in a 26-22 defeat to Gloucester in the A League Southern Conference.

As a result, Bath United have now lost all four of their matches this season and therefore occupy the unwanted spot at the bottom of the table.

At post-match, Fruean tweeted: Was a tough old job going up to Gloucester Rugby but was good to be back out on the field again running around chasing that pill".

On Monday, Blackadder said that Fruean's inclusion in the Bath United squad did not definitely rule him out of the Bath Rugby game against Wasps on Christmas Eve although he also outlined that there is no rushing him and fitness was more important for the New Zealander last night as opposed to performance.
