Siobhan-Marie O'Connor wins Olympic silver in the pool
Bath-born Siobhan-Marie O'Connor became the latest British athlete to bring home a medal as she claimed silver in the women's 200m individual medley.
In the process, O'Connor broke her own British record, however she was just a fraction of a second away from winning Team GB's second gold of the games.
Hungarian Katinka Hosszu only triumphed over O'Connor by a marginal 0.3 seconds as she broke the Olympic record time while Madeline Dirado of the United States earned the bronze.
O'Connor's achievement will go down as one of the greatest of the Rio Olympics, given that just three years ago she was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis which can make her feel exhausted and susceptible to illness.
After collecting her silver, O'Connor told the BBC: "It feels pretty unreal. I am trying not to cry but it is the best feeling in the world.
"It doesn't seem real but seeing my family I was getting choked up. It means everything. I have worked so hard for it. It has been tough but so, so worth it.
"Sometimes you think 'is it my time?' It just shows what determination can do and all the hard work has paid off but I would not have been able to do it without my amazing team."
O'Connor could leave Rio with more medals as she has the 4x200m freestyle relay and the 4x100m medley relay in the coming days.
Team GB will be competing in heat two of the 4x200m relay which is at around 18:30 tonight with the final tomorrow and then the 4x100m medley relay will again feature GB in heat two on Friday before the final on Sunday.
