  • England have held the Calcutta Cup since they wrestled it out of Scotland’s grasp in 2009. Scotland’s most recent victory over “the auld enemy” was 15-9 at BT Murrayfield in 2008.
  • England have not conceded a try at BT Murrayfield for 424 minutes since Simon Danielli crossed in 2004.

Previous meetings

In a game which initially struggled to gather momentum, the two sides met in last year's Six Nations in front of a packed Twickenham. Taking a 7-0 lead, England allowed Scotland back into the tie courtesy of a Mark Bennett try on his Twickenham debut.

England would dig deep however and, buoyed by a vocal home crowd, saw the tie through victoriously to leave the turf 25-13 victors.
