Six Nations: The Team of Round Three
The Six Nations returns to action this weekend, but which players are entering the fourth round in a hot streak of form? Total Sport took a look back to the 'team of round three', as determined by statistics provider Accenture.
Four Englishmen make the line up, including debutant Maro Itoje following an impressive outing against the Irish.
Itoje is joined by Dan Cole, Jack Nowell and powerhouse Billy Vunipola in the team of round three, after each enjoyed strong starts to the 2016 test.
England's holding off of Ireland at Twickenham marked the first home win of Eddie Jones' reign and Man of the match Vunipola stays at No.8 in team of the week due to his 94m and nine defenders beaten.
Dan Cole gets the nod at tighthead while Maro Itoje's 16 tackles, 15m with ball in hand and one jackal earn him a slot in the second row.
In the back line Jack Nowell was at his attacking best - making 54m and beating three defenders, while also making seven tackles in defence including a try saver on Ireland's Robbie Henshaw.
Henshaw's all-round display earns him a centre spot and he is joined in midfield by compatriot and debutant Stuart McCloskey who grew into the encounter.
Welsh duo Gareth Davies and Dan Biggar pair up at 9 and 10 after their majestic performance against Les Blues in Cardiff.
Scrum-half Davies - who scored a superb try against Scotland in round two - was at his sniping best again, beating six defenders for 59m in all.
And Biggar outside him was near-flawless from the kicking tee with 14 points as well as making 66m with ball in hand.
France for their part fought well in the second half and their forward pack started to turn the screw, meaning that Guilhem Guirado and Jefferson Poirot both make this team.
France captain Guirado in particular was superb in defeat, making 22m with ball in hand and all eight of his tackles.
