Your Total Guide To sport
Pressure had been mounting for the Blue, Black and White, as the heights of the 2014/15 Premiership season could not be lived up to. After recently losing fowards coach Neal Hatley to the England set up, the departure of Ford now means Bath Rugby are faced with a staff overhaul, before entering the 2016/17 campaign.
Here's what Twitter had to say, following the announcement:
@radio_sheri @bathrugby really didn't think it would happen!! Very surprised honestly thought they'd give him another season
— BathBytes (@BathBytes) May 16, 2016
@BathBytes @radio_sheri @bathrugby I agree it was just one of those seasons
— David Burgess (@daveburgess1968) May 16, 2016
@blocks2u @daveburgess1968 @BathBytes @radio_sheri 2nd to 9th and apparent dressing room unrest. Writing was on the wall I guess!
— Rob Griffiths (@safehandz) May 16, 2016
@BathBytes @bathrugby more gutting news. Hope it's not a knee jerk reaction to a tumultuous season. Genuinely wish Ford well.
— Tarryn McKay (@yellowgrub) May 16, 2016
Massive news from Bath Rugby. Right, back to the BBQ.
— David Flatman (@davidflatman) May 16, 2016
@HughWalker15 @BathBytes I agree need a really big replacement now to appease everyone
— David Burgess (@daveburgess1968) May 16, 2016
Thank you for the good times @Mike7Ford leading @bathrugby to Twickenham so close to a European semi too! #bathfamily #bb&w
— Steve Maddison (@smad1991) May 16, 2016
@BathBytes he did get the dreaded vote of confidence the other week, sad but not surprised, think we should have stuck with him tho
— David Burgess (@daveburgess1968) May 16, 2016
MASSES of speculation but I can confirm that the dream team of me and @duncanbell3 have ruled ourselves out of the @bathrugby top job #Moobs
— David Flatman (@davidflatman) May 16, 2016
Mike Ford leaves Bath. One poor season enough to cost him his job ...#Premiership coaching becoming an ever more treacherous jungle.
— robert kitson (@robkitson) May 16, 2016
@bathrugby hope rugby is not getting more like football
— Nick Morris (@nickjohnmorris) May 16, 2016
Something definitely went wrong for Mike Ford and Bath a while ago.

I just can't think what. pic.twitter.com/GbtKPfHver
Sad to hear Mike Ford has been sacked, poor decision deserved another season to put things right @bathrugby
— Daniel Thomas (@danwiththeplan1) May 16, 2016
I'm intrigued about the Mike Ford events. Quins had a similar season last year but didn't sack COS so what is different here Just interested
— LoubyLou (@Loubylou49) May 16, 2016
Remember what Bath were doing this time last season? 12 months on they've sacked Mike Ford. What a fragile grip coaches have on their jobs.
— Nick Mullins (@andNickMullins) May 16, 2016
So rumours were true-coach Mike Ford is leaving Bath at the end of the season. Top club, under-achieved this year, sure to be big interest
— Robin Davey (@robindavey01) May 16, 2016
So Mike Ford gone. Nothing coherent about @bathrugby this season. He was named @premrugby coach of the season this time last year.
— Kevin Coughlan (@KevinFCoughlan) May 16, 2016
No surprise that Bath have parted company with Mike Ford.
— Paul Williams (@thepaulwilliams) May 16, 2016
Something went wrong at that club months ago.
Obvious for all to see.
Feel bad for Mike Ford but this seasons performance, he's lost the confidence from the players and fans. Wish him all the best #BathRugby
— Ferris Hall (@Ferrish07) May 16, 2016
Thanks for everything @Mike7Ford all the best... pic.twitter.com/HwKXjCBdsg
