Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive VIP experience, gaining an insider's perspective on horse racing and exploring areas typically out of bounds. This includes the weighing room and stable yard alongside expert tour guides.

The immersive opportunity also offers a captivating introduction, insights into racehorse preparations, and tips on reading the racecard from a knowledgeable tipster. Guests will also enjoy a luxurious two-course lunch at the Paddock Pavilion restaurant and unrestricted access to all areas of the racecourse. Geared towards both racing enthusiasts and newcomers, the tour promises a new perspective on the world of horse racing.

Beyond the racetrack Interest in horse racing continues to rise. According to the Racecourse Association, attendance rose by around 1.5% in the UK between 2022 and 2023. And 3.1 million people watched the 2024 Grand National on TV. Aside from betting, the sport is also expanding its reach through innovative technology like JockeyCam, a virtual reality experience that gives fans an intimate view of a horse race from the jockey’s point of view.

New films like Dream Horse, a drama based on the true story of a Welsh village’s successful syndicate, have been met with acclaim and influenced interest in horse racing syndicates for long-time fans and newcomers alike to invest in the sport by buying shares in racehorses. Bath Racecourse’s behind-the-scenes tour package comes at a time when the sport’s enthusiasts are keen on going beyond what happens on the track.

A venue steeped in history The highest flat racecourse in Great Britain, Bath’s renowned venue is best known for its thoroughbred horse racing. It features a left-handed oval track that spans 1 mile 4 furlongs and 25 yards, with a nearly half-mile run-in. The home straight extends 4 furlongs and includes a steady rise and turn.

Part of Arena Racing Company (ARC), it underwent a multi-million-pound redevelopment in 2016, transforming it into the stunning racecourse it is today. A fresh design, revamped parade ring, and newly opened Beckford Bar have all added to its new look. In July 2016, the Langridge Grandstand was also unveiled, offering various additional facilities, including a canopied roof garden that provides an excellent vantage point for watching the races.

Hosting approximately 20 flat races from March to October, the venue at Lansdown Hill also offers a variety of other live events. The modern facilities honour the site's history and heritage, accommodating guests on race days as well as private events such as weddings and conferences.
