Your Total Guide To sport
Over a gruelling eight miles, Bath's (semi) elite walkers braved the harshest terrain and the most(ly) horrific weather conditions, all in the name of charity.
The walk started at Dorothy House in Bradford upon Avon, before slicing its way across Limpley Stoke and onto the canal. Then there was a slight pause, as this tricky first mile was counter balanced by a pint at the first pub.
Then, whistles whetted, the mass moved off again, groaning round the valley towards Bath. Then another pause, at The George in Bathampton, where yet more refreshments were taken on before the final push.
The final push incidentally, was a final pie and pint at The Recreation ground to watch an energetic, if sometimes inconsistent England, beat Ireland 21-10. What a day, what a result! Charity has never felt so good.
