What to Expect from Bath FC in the Second Half of the Season?
After a reasonable start to the season, Bath FC are sitting comfortably around the middle of the Vanarama National League South table. Lee Howells has built up a decent squad and The Romans will be keen to build some momentum throughout the second half of the campaign. With a bit of luck, Bath could find themselves in the playoff spots at the end of the season, but could also quite easily find themselves toward the bottom of the division as well.
Next up for Bath is a home fixture against Truro City. Bath have been fairly consistent throughout the campaign, but may need a slight improvement at home if they are to achieve their aim of reaching the playoffs. They have picked up 15 points from their opening ten home games, while picking up 14 on the road.
Howells’ men have slipped up in some relatively easy clashes this season and those results could cost them dearly at the business end of the season. They are well priced at 29/20 with Coral to win on Boxing Day – a result that would see them climb above their opponents.
So far, Bath haven’t had much trouble finding the net. They have scored 26 goals so far this season and Frankie Artus and David Pratt are currently leading the way as Bath’s top scorers in the 2015-16 campaign.
Pratt has netted five league goals so far but Artus has seven in all competitions – one more than Pratt has accumulated. If both players continue to score goals, they could lead Bath up the table in the coming months. It will take some turnaround but they will still fancy their chances of finishing in the playoff spots.
In a way, Bath’s form in the opening stages of the season is quite similar to Liverpool in the Premier League. They have struggled at times but have shown plenty of promise and could improve soon. The early opinions are in and many will back Bath in the football bet markets to emulate Liverpool and improve in the coming weeks.
Traditionally, they have performed better in the second half of the season and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Howells’ men climb up the division. Just like Klopp’s men have, Bath could begin to earn a few shock victories and may invest heavily in the January transfer window.
Given time, Bath may well go on to finish in the playoff spots. However, they MUST improve at home to stand any chance. Their strikers are scoring goals and, with a bit of luck, they will pick up all three points against Truro City as they begin their charge towards the top of the table.
