Zach Mercer and Josh Bayliss of Bath Rugby named in England U20 squad

Two young Bath Rugby starlets, Zach Mercer and Josh Bayliss, have been named in the England under-20 squad.

Bayliss and Mercer are included in a 28-man squad for the World Rugby U20 Championship that is due to take place in Georgia from May 31 to June 18.

Mercer, in particular, has had good times with the England U20s as he led the Red Rose to the U20 Six Nations earlier this year and was involved when England won the World Championship in Manchester last year.

“Following the England U20 Grand Slam earlier this year, it is great to have five players earn places in the senior squad," said RFU Head of International Player Development, Dean Ryan.

“The Six Nations showed that we have a large pool of young talent and that competition for places is high.  We’re looking forward to seeing which players now take the opportunity to make their mark in the World Championship this summer as this group continues to develop.”
